If you are driving from Palangka Raya, the capital of Central Kalimantan, head southeast on Jalan Trans Kalimantan (Route 1) towards the town of Pangkalan Bun. This journey will take approximately 5-6 hours, covering around 400 km. Once you arrive in Pangkalan Bun, follow signs to Kumai, which is about 30 minutes away by car. The entrance to Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting is located in Kumai, near the Teluk Pulai area.

For those using public transport, you can take a bus from Palangka Raya to Pangkalan Bun. Buses depart regularly from the main bus terminal and the journey takes around 7-8 hours, costing approximately IDR 100,000-150,000. Once in Pangkalan Bun, you can take a local taxi or a motorcycle taxi (ojek) to Kumai, which will cost around IDR 50,000-70,000 and take about 30 minutes. From Kumai, you can arrange a boat to take you into Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting.
