If you are driving, head towards the Karo Regency region. From Medan, take the Jalan Lintas Sumatera road (Trans-Sumatra Highway) and follow the signs towards Berastagi. Once you reach Berastagi, continue on the same road towards Merek. The journey from Medan to Merek is approximately 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Once in Merek, follow the signs to Air Terjun Sipiso Piso, which is about a 30-minute drive. Be aware that the road may have some steep and winding sections, so drive cautiously.
Public Transportation
To reach Air Terjun Sipiso Piso via public transportation, take a bus from Medan to Berastagi, which takes about 2-3 hours. Buses frequently depart from the Amplas Bus Terminal in Medan. Once you arrive in Berastagi, you can take a local minibus or hire a motorcycle taxi (ojek) to Merek. The minibus ride will take about 30 minutes. Upon reaching Merek, you may need to hire a local ojek or a taxi to take you directly to the waterfall, which is approximately 30 minutes away.
