If you are driving from Pekanbaru, head northwest on Jl. Soekarno-Hatta towards Jl. Sudirman. Continue on Jl. Soekarno-Hatta until you reach Jl. Riau. Follow Jl. Riau to the junction with Jl. Lintas Riau - Sumatera. Take the ramp onto Jl. Lintas Riau - Sumatera and continue for approximately 130 km. After passing through the town of Rokan Hulu, look for signs leading to Bangun Purba. Turn onto Jl. Bangun Purba and follow this road for about 20 km until you arrive at Air Terjun AEK MATUA, located at Bangun Purba Timur Jaya, Rokan Hulu Regency.
