Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Padang, head north on Jalan Raya Padang - Bukittinggi (Route 25) for approximately 100 km. After reaching the town of Bukittinggi, continue on Route 25 towards Payakumbuh. From Payakumbuh, take the road towards West Pasaman Regency. Follow the signs to Lembah Malintang as you approach Ujung Gading. When you arrive in Ujung Gading, use GPS to navigate to 'FMG6+P32, Ujung Gading, Lembah Malintang' - Danau Laut Tinggal is located nearby. Expect a travel time of around 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic.

• Public Transportation

  Begin your journey at the main bus terminal in Padang. Look for buses heading to Bukittinggi. Once you arrive in Bukittinggi, transfer to a bus that goes to Payakumbuh. From Payakumbuh, find a local minibus or shared taxi that’s headed towards Ujung Gading. This last leg will take you to the vicinity of 'FMG6+P32, Ujung Gading, Lembah Malintang'. The total travel time can take approximately 5 to 6 hours, and the cost will vary; expect to pay around IDR 50,000 to IDR 100,000 for the bus from Padang to Bukittinggi and IDR 30,000 to IDR 60,000 for the other segments.
