If you are driving from Banjarmasin, take the Jalan A. Yani route heading east. Follow this road for about 6 hours, approximately 360 kilometers, until you reach the city of Pangkalan Bun. From Pangkalan Bun, continue on Jalan Trans Kalimantan for about 20 kilometers until you reach Kumai. The entrance to Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting is located near Teluk Pulai in Kumai. Make sure to have a GPS or map handy as some road signs may not be clear. Parking is usually available near the park entrance.

To reach Taman Nasional Tanjung Puting using public transportation, start your journey at Terminal Bus Banjarmasin. Take a bus to Pangkalan Bun; this journey typically takes about 8 to 10 hours, depending on the bus service. Once you arrive at Pangkalan Bun, take a local minibus or ojek (motorcycle taxi) to Kumai, which is approximately 20 kilometers away.
