If you are starting from Jayapura, rent a car and drive towards the city of Wamena. The journey will take approximately 6 hours. Follow the Trans Papua highway, which is the main road connecting various towns in the region. Ensure you have a map or GPS, as some areas may have limited signage. After reaching Wamena, continue driving towards Usilimo. You will need to navigate on local roads, so be prepared for potential rough patches. Gua lokale is located at the coordinates 3VHC+6R, Usilimo, Wesaput, Jayawijaya Regency. Look for local signs or ask locals for directions as you approach Usilimo.
Public transportation (Bus)
From Jayapura, take a bus to Wamena. Buses depart regularly from the main bus terminal. The fare is approximately IDR 200,000 to IDR 300,000 depending on the bus service. The journey will take about 6-7 hours. Once in Wamena, you can find local transportation options such as shared taxis or ojek (motorcycle taxis) to reach Usilimo. The fare for an ojek to Usilimo is around IDR 50,000 to IDR 100,000 depending on negotiation. Ensure to ask the driver to take you to Gua lokale, as it may not be a well-known destination.

In Wamena, consider renting a motorbike for a more adventurous route to Usilimo. Motorbike rentals are available and typically cost around IDR 100,000 to IDR 150,000 per day.
