Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards the East Luwu region in South Sulawesi. From Makassar, take the Trans Sulawesi Highway (Route 2) heading towards Palopo. After approximately 300 km, you will reach Palopo. From Palopo, continue onto the road towards Sorowako. As you approach Sorowako, follow the signs to Jl. Lamattulia. Molino Beach is located at Jl. Lamattulia, Sorowako, Kec. Nuha, Kabupaten Luwu Timur. Make sure to check local traffic conditions and plan for a travel time of around 5-7 hours depending on your starting point.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, start your journey at the Makassar bus terminal (Terminal Malengkeri). Look for a bus heading to Palopo; the journey takes about 6-8 hours. Upon reaching Palopo, you will need to transfer to a smaller bus or minivan that goes to Sorowako. These typically leave from the same bus terminal and the trip to Sorowako will take an additional 1-2 hours. Once in Sorowako, you can take a local taxi or a motorcycle taxi to Jl. Lamattulia where Molino Beach is located. Ensure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your ride.
Rental Scooter
If you prefer a more adventurous route, consider renting a scooter in Sorowako. After arriving via bus, look for rental shops in the area. Riding a scooter allows you to explore the scenic coastal roads at your own pace. The ride to Molino Beach from the center of Sorowako is approximately 15 minutes. Be sure to wear a helmet and drive cautiously as the roads may be unfamiliar.
