If you are driving to Buakayu, start from Rantepao, the main town in Tana Toraja. Head south on Jalan Poros Rantepao-Makale. After approximately 12 kilometers, take a left onto a smaller road towards Bonggakaradeng. Continue for about 8 kilometers on this road, following signs for Buakayu. Keep an eye out for local landmarks; you may pass a few rice fields and small villages along the way. Buakayu is located at coordinates -3.1855, 119.7348, so you can use a GPS or map application for precise navigation. The drive should take around 30-40 minutes depending on road conditions.

Public Transportation
To reach Buakayu via public transportation, start by taking a bemo (minibus) from Rantepao to Bonggakaradeng. The bemo station is located near the main market in Rantepao. The fare is usually around IDR 20,000-30,000, and the journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Bonggakaradeng, you can hire a local ojek (motorcycle taxi) to take you to Buakayu for around IDR 10,000-15,000. Make sure to agree on the fare before the ride. The ojek will take you directly to the location, which is approximately 6 kilometers from the Bonggakaradeng center.
