If you are driving from Rantepao, the main town in Tana Toraja, head south on Jalan Poros Rantepao Makale. Continue for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Jalan Sangalla. Turn left onto Jalan Sangalla and drive for about 12 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Danau Assa and follow them until you arrive at the lake area, which is well-marked.

To reach Danau Assa using public transport, start from the main bus terminal in Rantepao. Look for a minibus heading towards Sangalla. The fare is typically around IDR 20,000.
