If you're driving from Ubud, head north on Jl. Raya Ubud. Continue on this road for about 10 km until you reach the intersection with Jl. Tampaksiring. Turn left onto Jl. Tampaksiring and follow it for approximately 7 km. Look for signs directing you to Candi Tebing Gunung Kawi. You'll arrive at the parking area, which is typically free. From the parking area, it's a short walk down some steps to the temple.

To reach Candi Tebing Gunung Kawi via public transportation, take a bemo (local minibus) from Ubud to Tampaksiring. The bemo terminal is located near the Ubud Market. The fare is around 20,000 IDR. Once you arrive in Tampaksiring, you may need to hire a taxi or motorbike taxi to take you to Candi Tebing Gunung Kawi, which is about a 10-minute ride away, costing approximately 50,000 IDR.
