Car
If you are traveling by car within West Papua, start your journey towards Sorong, which is the nearest major city. From Sorong, head southeast on Jalan Raya Sorong - Manokwari. Keep following the signs for Waisai, which is the capital of Raja Ampat. The drive will take approximately 2 hours (about 120 km). After reaching Waisai, you will need to take a boat to get to Papua Explorers Dive Resort. Look for the local boats heading towards Meos Mansar, and the boat ride will take around 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the sea conditions. The resort is located at Pantai Pinsilim, Yenwaoupnor, so inform the boat operator of your destination beforehand.
Public Transportation (Bus & Boat)
For those opting for public transport, start by taking a bus from your current location to Sorong. There are several bus companies operating this route. Once you arrive in Sorong, proceed to the harbor where boats to Raja Ampat are available. You may need to wait for the next scheduled boat to Waisai. Upon reaching Waisai, transfer to a local boat heading to Meos Mansar. The total travel time can vary, so plan for a full day of travel. Ensure to check the bus and boat schedules in advance, as they can change based on local conditions. Also, be prepared for potential costs: bus fares range from IDR 50,000 to IDR 150,000 depending on the distance and service, and boat fares to Waisai can be around IDR 600,000 to IDR 1,000,000.
