If you are in the central area of Yogyakarta (around Malioboro Street), head east towards Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and continue until you reach the intersection with Jalan Patehan. Turn left onto Jalan Patehan and walk straight for about 10 minutes. Taman Sari will be on your right, just before you reach the entrance of the Water Castle.
Becak (Pedicab)
From Malioboro Street, you can hire a becak (traditional pedicab). Simply tell the driver 'Taman Sari' or show them the address: Patehan, Kraton. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. The becak driver will drop you off right outside the entrance to Taman Sari.
Public Transport (Trans Jogja Bus)
Take the Trans Jogja Bus route 1A or 1B from any nearby bus stop. Get off at the 'Bubutan' stop. From there, exit the bus and walk south to Jalan Patehan. Taman Sari is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Just follow the signs towards the Water Castle.
