Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from Malioboro, walk south along Jalan Malioboro until you reach the intersection with Jalan Pangeran Mangkubumi. Turn left onto Jalan Pangeran Mangkubumi and continue for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Jalan Suryodiningratan. Turn right onto Jalan Suryodiningratan. Continue walking straight for another 300 meters until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Jalan Ngupasan. The Sonobudoyo Museum New Building will be on your left side after about 200 meters.

    Head to the nearest Trans Jogja bus stop, which is likely near Malioboro. Take the Trans Jogja bus route 1A or 1B heading towards Jombor Terminal. Get off at the 'Tugu Yogyakarta' stop. From there, walk east along Jalan Jendral Sudirman until you reach the intersection with Jalan Ngupasan. Turn left onto Jalan Ngupasan and continue walking for about 500 meters.
