  • Walking

    If you are starting from downtown Ames, head east on Main Street towards 5th Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Lincoln Way. Turn right onto Lincoln Way and walk for about 0.5 miles. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. After crossing the intersection with 13th Street, continue on Lincoln Way for another 0.3 miles. Look for the signs leading to Iowa State University. Once you reach the entrance of the university, follow the signs to the Farm House Museum located at 601 Farm House Ln. The museum will be on your right after walking about 0.2 miles into the campus.

    If you are near the ISU campus, you can bike to the Farm House Museum. Start at the central campus area and head towards the Memorial Union. From there, take the bike path that runs along the edge of Lake LaVerne. Follow the path around the lake and continue onto the bike trail heading north. This trail will lead you directly to Farm House Ln. Once you reach Farm House Ln, turn left, and the museum will be a short distance ahead on your left at 601 Farm House Ln.
