You can take the DART (Des Moines Area Regional Transit) bus service, which operates routes connecting Ankeny to Des Moines. Look for Route 1 (Green) or Route 2 (Blue), both of which travel towards downtown Des Moines. Make sure to check the bus schedule for departure times. Once on the bus, stay on until you reach the stop at 2nd Ave & Walnut St. From there, walk two blocks east on Walnut St, and you will arrive at the Civic Center.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service or your hotel. Head south on Ankeny Blvd (US-69) towards Des Moines. Continue on the bike lane which will take you along the scenic routes. Once you reach downtown Des Moines, navigate to Walnut St. The Civic Center is located at 221 Walnut St, just a short ride from the bike paths.

If you want to walk, start from the center of Ankeny and head south towards Des Moines. The walk is approximately 7 miles and can take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Follow the pedestrian paths along Ankeny Blvd until you reach the intersection with 2nd Ave. Turn right onto 2nd Ave and continue until you reach Walnut St. Take a left on Walnut St, and the Civic Center will be on your right at 221 Walnut St.
