Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start from downtown Dubuque. Head southeast on Main St toward E 9th St, then turn left onto E 9th St. Continue straight onto University Ave, and follow it until you reach the intersection with Bellevue Heights Rd. Turn right onto Bellevue Heights Rd. The EB Lyons Interpretive Center will be on your right at 8991 Bellevue Heights Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003. Parking is available on-site.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, take the local bus service, which has routes servicing downtown Dubuque. Check the current bus schedule to find a route that heads toward the Mines of Spain area. You will likely need to disembark at the nearest bus stop and then walk approximately 1.5 miles to the EB Lyons Interpretive Center. If walking is not feasible, consider a rideshare service from the bus stop to the center.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can bike to EB Lyons Interpretive Center. From downtown Dubuque, take the bike path along the Mississippi River, following the signs that lead to the Mines of Spain State Recreation Area. The trip is about 3 miles and offers scenic views. Once you arrive at the state park, follow the signs to the EB Lyons Interpretive Center.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby in the Mines of Spain area, you can walk to the EB Lyons Interpretive Center. The center is approximately a 30-minute walk from the nearest trailhead in the state park. Follow the designated walking trails that lead toward the interpretive center. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated!
