    Start in downtown Dubuque at the intersection of 3rd St and Main St. Head south on 3rd St until you reach the intersection with Locust St. Turn left onto Locust St and continue walking until you reach the intersection with 9th St. Here, you will turn right onto 9th St. Continue on 9th St which will turn into University Ave. Follow University Ave until it becomes a road that leads into the Mines of Spain Recreation Area. Look for signs indicating the entrance to the park. Once you enter the park, follow the signs for the Americas State Tree Woodland Walk.

    Catch the local bus from the Dubuque Intermodal Transportation Center. You will need to take the bus that goes towards the Mines of Spain Recreation Area.
