Walking
If you are in downtown Council Bluffs, start at the intersection of Broadway and South 6th Street. Head east on Broadway Street for about four blocks until you reach the intersection with South 16th Street. Turn left (north) on South 16th Street. Continue walking north until you reach Lafayette Avenue. Turn right (east) on Lafayette Avenue. Walk for about two blocks, and you will see the Lincoln Monument on your left side.

If you are near the Council Bluffs Public Library, walk to the nearest bus stop on 16th and Broadway. Take the Metro Area Transit bus route 2 heading towards the Council Bluffs Transit Center. Get off at the stop at 16th and Lafayette Avenue. From there, walk east on Lafayette Avenue for about one block, and the Lincoln Monument will be on your left side.

If you are renting a bicycle, start at the Council Bluffs bike trail. Head towards the East Broadway Street and follow it down to South 16th Street. Turn left (north) on South 16th Street and continue until you reach Lafayette Avenue. Turn right (east) onto Lafayette Avenue and bike for about two blocks until you arrive at the Lincoln Monument on the left side of the street.
