Sinclair, the estate was later transformed by George and Irene Douglas, who gave it the name Brucemore, alluding to the Scottish moors of their ancestral home. Finally, Margaret Douglas Hall and her husband, Howard, infused the estate with their unique personalities and whimsical touches.The 21-room Queen Anne mansion showcases a blend of architectural styles and interior designs, reflecting the tastes and lifestyles of its former residents. Visitors can admire the 1925 Grant Wood Sleeping Porch, featuring a plaster relief by the renowned Iowa artist. The 1929 Skinner player pipe organ, one of only six residential Skinner organs remaining unaltered and in its original location, offers a glimpse into the estate's rich cultural history.
