Bicycle
Start at the center of Ottumwa, for example, at the Ottumwa City Hall. Head south on Main St toward E 2nd St. Continue straight onto E 2nd St and then turn left onto S Jefferson St. Follow Jefferson St until you reach the intersection with W 4th St. Turn right onto W 4th St and continue on this road as it becomes 200th Ave. Follow 200th Ave which will lead you toward Lake Wapello State Park, approximately 10 miles away. The park entrance will be on your left.

Take the Ottumwa City Transit bus from the Ottumwa Transit Hub located at 210 E Main St. Check the schedule for the most current route; you will likely need to take a bus toward Drakesville. Once you arrive in Drakesville, you may need to walk or arrange for a ride to reach Lake Wapello State Park, which is about 2 miles from the town center. Walk west on State St until you reach Campground Rd, then turn right. The park entrance will be ahead on your left.

If you're near the Ottumwa Public Library, start walking south on S Market St. Continue until you reach E 2nd St, then turn right. Follow E 2nd St until it merges into S Jefferson St, then continue straight. After about 4 miles, it will turn into 200th Ave. Continue walking on 200th Ave for approximately 6 miles until you arrive at Lake Wapello State Park, which will be on your left.
