  • Driving

    From Sioux City, follow Stone Park Boulevard/Highway 12 north. Turn onto Stone State Park Drive and follow the signs to Elk Point Overlook. The overlook is approximately 2.5 miles from the park entrance. Parking is available at the overlook. Parking is free.

    From the Sioux City Transit Center at 4th and Nebraska Streets, take Bus Route 5 towards Stone State Park. Get off at the stop closest to the park entrance. From there, follow the trail signs to Elk Point Overlook. A single fare is $1.75.

    From within Stone State Park, follow the trails leading towards Elk Point Overlook from the visitor center. Take the main trail heading north and watch for signs directing you to the overlook. The hike is approximately 1 mile and offers scenic views. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear.
