    From the heart of downtown Waterloo, such as the Waterloo Public Library, walk west along W 4th St. The Waterloo Convention Center will be on your right, a short walk past the 4th Street Bridge. No costs involved.

The Waterloo Convention Center at Sullivan Brothers Plaza is a central hub in downtown Waterloo, Iowa, hosting a wide array of conventions, events, and banquets throughout the year. This 40,000-square-foot facility can accommodate up to 2,000 people, offering flexible meeting and exhibition spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including high-speed internet and media capabilities. Originally opened as the Conway Civic Center in the 1970s, the facility was built to connect the east and west sides of Waterloo. In the 1980s, a hotel and parking ramp were connected via skywalk. In 1987, it was rededicated as the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center, honoring five local brothers who perished in World War II. In 2021, the center was renamed the Waterloo Convention Center to reflect community pride and its ongoing transformation. The grounds were named Sullivan Brothers Plaza. The center features an expansive lobby, multiple meeting rooms, a ballroom that can be divided into sections, a conference room, and an exhibit hall. The Waterloo Convention Center is managed by Oak View Group (OVG) and is committed to providing exceptional event experiences through creative entrepreneurship, innovative techniques, and best-in-class service.
