    The Amana Colonies are located near Interstate 80. Take Exit 225 (Highway 151) and head north. Follow Highway 151 for approximately 5 miles until you reach the intersection with Highway 6. Turn right onto Highway 6 to reach Homestead, Amana, and Middle Amana. The Amana Colonies Trail (Highway 220) forms a 14-mile loop connecting all seven villages. Parking is available throughout the Amana Colonies, with street parking in the villages and designated parking areas near popular attractions. Parking is generally free. During festivals and peak tourist season, parking may be limited.

    The Amana Colonies are easily walkable, especially within each village. The villages are spaced a few miles apart, so walking between them is possible but may be more suitable for recreation. The Kolonieweg Trail connects Amana and Middle Amana, offering a scenic 3.1-mile paved and gravel path for pedestrians and cyclists. Public restrooms are available near the Visitor's Center in Amana. Wheelchairs and strollers can be rented from the Visitor's Center for a fee.
