Maquoketa Caves State Park is located a few miles northwest of the city of Maquoketa. From Maquoketa, follow Highway 61 and turn west onto Caves Road/State Highway 428. Continue for approximately 4.6 miles, then continue onto 55th Street for 1.1 miles. Turn left onto 98th Street and continue 0.4 miles to the park. Parking is free, but limited, especially on weekends. Arrive early or visit during off-peak hours.

While there is no direct public transportation to Maquoketa Caves State Park, Region 8 Regional Transit Authority (RTA) provides public transit service to the city of Maquoketa. From Dubuque, which has bus connections to other cities, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Maquoketa Caves State Park, which is approximately a 40-minute drive (about 30 miles). Expect to pay around $50-70 for the taxi or rideshare fare. RTA offers transportation within the city of Maquoketa for $1 one-way.
