Nahr Jasim: A River Scarred by War, Reborn by Nature

Nahr Jasim, situated east of Basra near the Iranian border, is a river etched in history due to the brutal battles fought here during the Iran-Iraq War, specifically in January 1987. The area surrounding the river remains laden with landmines, a grim reminder of the conflict.Recently, efforts have been made to revitalize the river, with approximately two kilometers of its 30-kilometer length being filled with water.
