Walking
If you are in the central area of Basra, head towards Shatt Al-Arab Street, a major thoroughfare. Walk south along this street until you reach the intersection with Al-Hassan Street. Turn left onto Al-Hassan Street and continue walking until you see the sign for the General Authority for Antiquities. The location is approximately a 20-30 minute walk from the central area.
Public Transport
Find a local bus that heads towards the Sabkhat Al Arab area. You can catch a bus from the central bus station in Basra. Ask the driver if the bus goes to Sabkhat Al Arab. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop closest to the GR28+J67 coordinates. From there, you may need to ask locals for directions to the General Authority for Antiquities, as it may be a short walk from the bus stop. Bus fares are affordable.
Taxi
Taxis are plentiful and relatively cheap in Basra. A taxi from Basra International Airport to the city center costs approximately €35 to €45. A short taxi ride within the city center should cost considerably less. Be sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey, as taxi drivers may not be fluent in English.
