Getting There

Walking

From Erbil's main square, the Citadel is easily accessible on foot. Orient yourself towards the large tell (mound) that dominates the city center. The main entrance is a short walk uphill. Be aware that the slopes can be steep.
Taxi

Taxis are readily available throughout Erbil. Simply ask your driver to take you to 'Qelat Erbil' or the 'Erbil Citadel'. Agree on a fare before starting your journey; a short trip within the city center should cost between 4,000 to 6,000 IQD.
