Car
If driving from Erbil, head southwest on 40th Street (Qasr Street) towards the city exit. Follow signs for Shaqlawa, onto the Erbil-Shaqlawa road. Continue for approximately 30 kilometers, then look for signs for Mount Korek. Turn onto the mountain road, following it to the base. Parking is available near the cable car station. Parking fees may apply.
Public Transport
From Erbil Central Bus Station, take a bus or shared taxi towards Sulaimaniyah or Korek Mountain Resort. The fare ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 IQD. Ask the driver to drop you off at the closest point to Mount Korek. From there, hire a local taxi for the final stretch to the mountain resort, costing an additional 10,000 to 15,000 IQD.
Cable Car
Ascend Mount Korek via the Doppelmayr cable car from the Bekhal bottom station. A round-trip ticket costs approximately 15,000 IQD per person. The ride offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Check the cable car operating hours in advance, as they vary seasonally.
