From the center of Dohuk, begin at Shahran Square. Head south on 40th Street, then turn left onto 60th Street and walk for about 1 kilometer. Follow the signs indicating the direction to Zawa Mountain. The pathway leads up the mountain from its base.

From Shahran Square in Dohuk, take a minibus heading towards Zawa Mountain or Zawita. Minibuses will display 'Zawa' or 'Zawita' on their front. Inform the driver of your destination. The bus will take you near the base of the mountain. From there, follow the pathway to the summit. The fare is very affordable.
