The primary way to reach Aran Thatch Cottage is by ferry from the mainland. Ferries operate year-round from Rossaveel, approximately 37 km west of Galway City, and seasonally from Galway City and Doolin. From Rossaveel, the ferry to Inis Mór takes about 40 minutes. From Doolin, the ferry takes approximately 35 minutes. Ferry tickets range from €22-€34 for a single adult fare from Rossaveel. A return ticket will cost between €23 and €45 from Doolin. Once on Inis Mór, you'll arrive at Kilronan. From there, Aran Thatch Cottage is located in Oughil, approximately 4.5 km from the main village. You can take a taxi, pony and trap, or rent a bike to reach the cottage.
