From Athlone Town Centre, walk east along Church Street, then turn right onto the River Shannon Walk. Continue along the river, and Athlone Castle will be visible on your left. The walk is approximately 10 minutes. No costs involved.

From the N6 motorway, take exit 11 toward Athlone. Follow the signs for Athlone town center. Once in the town center, follow signs for Athlone Castle.
