From Athlone Town, go to the bus stop on Church Street. Take Bus Route 23 towards Ballinasloe. Ask the driver to be notified when approaching the Meehan stop. After about 15 minutes, you'll arrive at the Meehan stop. From the bus stop, walk back along the road for about 300 meters; the Commemorative Cross will be on your right. A single fare on Bus Éireann within the town of Athlone costs approximately €2.00-€3.50, but prices may vary.

Walking
From the center of Athlone, begin at Athlone Castle along the River Shannon. Head east along the river until you reach the bridge at the end of the castle grounds. Cross the bridge and continue straight onto the main road. Follow the road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach a roundabout. Take the second exit onto the N61 road towards Roscommon. Walk along this road for approximately 1 kilometer. You'll see a sign for 'Meehan' on your right; turn onto this road. After about 500 meters, you will find the Commemorative Cross on your left. There are no costs associated with walking.
