    To reach Russborough House via public transport from Dublin, take the Dublin Bus number 65 towards Ballymore Eustace. The bus stops at Russborough. Note that the bus route has limited services beyond Blessington to Ballymore Eustace. Check the Dublin Bus website for the most up-to-date timetable. A single fare from Dublin to Blessington costs approximately €3.

  • Driving

    If driving from Dublin, take the N81 southbound. Russborough House is located on the right, approximately 4km beyond Blessington. From the South, travel north on the N81 towards Blessington; Russborough will be on the left before reaching the town. There is ample on-site parking available for a €4 fee.

  • Taxi

    Local taxi services are available in Blessington. A taxi from Blessington to Russborough House, which is about 4.5 km, will cost approximately €15-€20. A taxi from Dublin city center will cost approximately €50-€60.

Russborough House, nestled near Blessington in County Wicklow, stands as one of Ireland's most beautiful examples of Palladian architecture. Designed by Richard Castle for Joseph Leeson, later the 1st Earl of Milltown, it was constructed between 1741 and 1755. The house boasts an exceptionally long frontage, stretching 210 meters.Inside, visitors can admire ornate plasterwork by the Lafranchini brothers. The house has been home to two significant art collections: the Milltown collection and the collection of Sir Alfred Beit, who purchased Russborough in 1952. The Alfred Beit Foundation, established in 1976, manages the property and its collections, opening the historic mansion to the public in 1978.Today, Russborough welcomes visitors to explore its house, parklands, and gardens. Visitors can take guided tours of the house, explore the parklands with walking trails, and discover the maze, fairy trail, and playground. The restored 18th-century walled garden is also a highlight. The parklands include a wildlife habitat and woodland trails. The site also features a Bird of Prey Centre, along with tea rooms and a craft shop.
