Steeped in social, cultural, and political heritage, The Oval is unique for having been caught in the crossfire of both the 1916 Rising and the Civil War in 1922. Severely damaged, it was rebuilt and reopened, becoming a favored spot for newspaper staff due to its proximity to several newspaper offices. Today, The Oval Bar provides a welcoming escape from the city's hustle and bustle. It features three floors of seating and a function area with a private bar, accommodating groups up to 50. The pub serves a full menu daily, with specialties like traditional Irish stew and all-day breakfast. Live music is featured every Saturday night. The Oval also caters to sports fans, offering a place to watch live events, and provides free Wi-Fi.
