Foxford's Vibrant Murals

The Foxford Murals project was conceived to transform ordinary walls into inspiring works of art, aiming to instill a sense of pride and community spirit among residents and visitors. The murals depict elements of local heritage, including flora, fauna, and folklore, telling the story of the community through art. The murals contribute to the town's identity and offer a visual narrative of its history and culture. The project aims to increase footfall for local businesses and enhance tourism by creating an aesthetically pleasing environment. These murals serve as landmarks and points of interest, inviting exploration and appreciation of Foxford's unique character. The artist chosen for the project was Friz, also known as Marion Noone, who is known for her work in Ballina and across the country. Foxford itself is a picturesque town situated on the banks of the River Moy, known for its world-class salmon fishing. The town has a rich history, with the Foxford Woollen Mills being a significant landmark since 1892. Foxford is also the birthplace of Admiral William Brown, the founder of the Argentine Navy, adding international significance to the town's heritage.
