    Walking

    Eyre Square is centrally located and easily accessible on foot from most parts of Galway City. From the Spanish Arch or Galway City Museum, walk northeast along the River Corrib, then turn east onto Shop Street, which leads directly to the square. From Galway Cathedral, walk east along University Road, then turn right onto Eyre Street, which leads to the square. No costs involved.

    Eyre Square is a major transportation hub in Galway City, with numerous bus routes converging there. Bus Éireann and City Direct operate services to and from the square. From other parts of Galway, take any bus route that lists Eyre Square as a destination. Many bus routes start and end at Eyre Square. A single adult bus fare is approximately €1.90, but it may vary depending on the distance and operator. Using a TFI Leap Card can reduce the fare.
