Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the nearest major town, Castlebar. Head north on the N60 towards Claremorris. After approximately 10 km, take the exit onto the R320 towards Mayo Abbey. Continue on R320 for about 5 km until you reach the village of Mayo Abbey. Once in the village, follow the signs for Killeen, and after about 1 km, you will find Holy Well located on your right, next to a small parking area.

    To reach Holy Well via public transportation, take a bus from Galway to Castlebar. Bus services are operated by Bus Éireann. Once you arrive in Castlebar, you will need to take a local taxi to Mayo Abbey, which is approximately 12 km away. Taxis can be found at the bus station or booked via phone. The taxi ride should cost around €15-€20. Once in Mayo Abbey, follow the directions for cars to reach Holy Well.
