Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Letterkenny. Take the N56 road towards Dunfanaghy. Continue on N56 for approximately 40 km until you reach the junction for the R251. Turn left onto R251, following signs for Dunfanaghy. After about 10 km, you will reach the village of Dunfanaghy. Once in Dunfanaghy, follow the signs for Sheephaven Bay. Park at the designated parking area near the beach entrance. From the parking area, it is a short walk to the beach. Please note that parking may be limited, especially during peak tourist season.

If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Letterkenny to Dunfanaghy. Bus services like Bus Éireann operate routes to Dunfanaghy. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Dunfanaghy, you can either walk or take a taxi to Sheephaven Bay. The walk from the bus stop to the beach is approximately 2 km and takes about 25 minutes. There may be taxi services available in Dunfanaghy to take you directly to the beach if you prefer not to walk.
