Follow the R263 for about 1 kilometer, keeping an eye out for signs indicating the way to Salmon Leap, which will be on your left. The walk is relatively short and offers scenic views of the surrounding area.
Public Transport
To reach Salmon Leap using public transport, take a bus to Carrick. Bus services operate from Donegal Town to Carrick. Once you arrive in Carrick, you may need to walk about 1 kilometer to reach Salmon Leap. Follow the R263 road in the direction of Slieve League Cliffs, and keep an eye out for signs leading to Salmon Leap. It is advisable to check local bus schedules in advance, as services may be limited. A single bus fare from Donegal Town to Carrick typically costs around €10-€15.
Car
If driving from Donegal Town, take the N15 road north. Merge onto the N56 towards Killybegs after approximately 25 kilometers. Continue on the N56 for about 10 kilometers until you reach the town of Carrick. From Carrick, follow the signs to Carrick Lower and continue driving for about 5 kilometers. You will see signs for Salmon Leap. Parking is available nearby. Parking fees, if applicable, are typically around €2-€5 per day.
