If you are driving, head to Drumboghill in County Donegal. From Letterkenny, take the N56 towards Dungloe. After approximately 20 km, turn left onto the R250 towards Gortahork. Continue for about 15 km until you reach Drumboghill. The Doon Fortress is located just off the main road. Look for signs indicating Doon Fort, and you will find a small parking area near the entrance.

To reach Doon Fortress via public transportation, take a bus from Letterkenny to Dungloe. You can check bus schedules with Bus Éireann or local transport services. Once you arrive in Dungloe, you will need to take a local taxi to Drumboghill as there may not be direct buses to the fortress. The taxi ride should take about 15 minutes. Ensure you have cash on hand to pay for the taxi, as not all drivers accept card payments.

If you are already in Drumboghill and wish to walk to Doon Fortress, head towards the local road that connects to the fortress. It is about a 20-30 minute walk from the center of Drumboghill, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for a bit of a hike. Follow the signs posted along the pathway leading to the fortress.
