Getting There

  • Driving

    Brigit's Garden is located in Rosscahill, Co. Galway, and is well signposted from the N59 main road, approximately a 20-minute drive north of Galway City. From Galway, follow the N59 towards Clifden. After approximately 19 km, look for the signs for Brigit's Garden. Turn off the N59 and follow the road to the garden entrance. There is free parking available on-site.

  • Public Transport

    From Galway City, take Bus Éireann route 419 or Citylink to Rosscahill. The bus will drop you off at the bottom of the road, approximately 2km from Brigit's Garden. From there, it's a 42 minute walk to the gardens. A discounted entry fee is offered to those arriving via public transport. Bus fare from Galway to Rosscahill ranges from €15-€23.

Brigit's Garden, located in Rosscahill, County Galway, is a captivating blend of nature, Celtic heritage, and interactive experiences. This award-winning garden spans 11 acres and is designed around the Celtic festivals of Samhain, Imbolc, Bealtaine, and Lughnasa, each represented by its own unique garden. These gardens mirror the cycle of life, from conception to old age, offering visitors a tranquil and reflective experience. Visitors can explore a variety of features, including a nature trail, an ancient ring fort (fairy fort), a thatched roundhouse, and the largest calendar sundial in Ireland. The garden is family-friendly, with an Earth Quest trail that presents science-based challenges, a natural play area, and a fairy village. The Sustainability Zone showcases renewable energy and organic gardening practices. Founded by Jenny Beale, Brigit's Garden is a not-for-profit organization and registered charity dedicated to connecting people with nature in a beautiful setting. The gardens were designed by landscape designer Mary Reynolds. Brigit's Garden is located at the gateway to Connemara, approximately 20 minutes north of Galway City, and is well signposted from the N59 main road.
