Gallarus Oratory: A Journey Through Time

Getting There

• Bus

  From Tralee town center, head to the Tralee Bus Station located on Edward Street. Look for the buses heading towards Dingle or Castlegregory. Make sure to ask the driver if they can drop you off at Gallarus Oratory or the nearest stop. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you get off the bus, follow the signs to Gallarus Oratory, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. You'll need to walk along the main road, keeping an eye out for directional signs.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in Tralee. Once you have your bike, head out of Tralee on the R560 road towards Dingle. The ride to Gallarus Oratory is about 15 kilometers and will take approximately 40-50 minutes, depending on your pace. Follow the road signs towards Dingle and look for the signs directing you to Gallarus Oratory. The site is well-marked, and the scenery along the way is quite beautiful.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk, start from Tralee town center and head towards the R560 road. It's about a 15-kilometer trek to Gallarus Oratory, which will take you roughly 3-4 hours, depending on your walking speed. Follow the R560 road towards Dingle, and keep an eye out for signs indicating Gallarus Oratory. The path can be scenic, but be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as it is a long walk.
