If you're driving from Portlaoise, take the M7 motorway towards Dublin. After about 30 km, take the exit for the N77 towards Kilkenny. Continue on the N77 for approximately 35 km until you reach Kilkenny. Once in Kilkenny, follow the signs for the city center. High Street is located near the center, and you can find parking nearby at various public car parks.
Public Transportation
To reach Kilkenny by public transportation, take a bus from Portlaoise Bus Station to Kilkenny. The journey typically takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Kilkenny Bus Station, exit the station and head towards the city center. Walk along the main street until you reach High Street, which is a short 10-minute walk away.
Car
If you're coming from Abbeyleix, head north on the R429 towards the N77. Merge onto the N77 and continue for about 25 km driving directly into Kilkenny. Follow the signs for the city center, and when you reach High Street, you will find the gardens nearby.
Public Transportation
From Durrow, take the local bus service to Kilkenny. Buses run several times a day and the trip takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Kilkenny Bus Station, walk towards the city center and follow the signs to High Street, which will take you about 10-15 minutes on foot.
