Car
If you are driving from Portlaoise, take the M7 motorway towards Dublin. After approximately 30 km, take exit 17 for the N77 towards Kilkenny. Continue on the N77 for about 25 km until you reach Kilkenny city center. Once in the city, follow signs for the city center and head towards Lower New Street. Talbot Tower is located on Lower New Street in the Gardens area of Kilkenny, easily recognizable by its historic architecture.
Public Transportation
To get to Talbot Tower using public transportation, take a train from Portlaoise to Kilkenny. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Kilkenny train station, exit the station and walk to the bus stop outside. Take Bus Route 3 towards the city center. Disembark at the stop near the Kilkenny Castle. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to Lower New Street. Follow the signs for Lower New Street, and you will find Talbot Tower in the Gardens area.
