If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Portlaoise, the largest town in County Laois. Head northwest on the N80 towards the town of Abbeyleix. Continue on the N80 for approximately 17km until you reach Abbeyleix. In Abbeyleix, follow the signs for the R430 to Aghaboe. After about 3km, turn left onto the R433. Continue on this road for about 5km, and you will arrive at Aghaboe Abbey, which is located directly in the village of Aghaboe.

For those using public transport, start your journey at Portlaoise Train Station. Take a train to the nearest station, which is either Abbeyleix or Durrow. From Abbeyleix, you can take a local taxi service to Aghaboe Abbey, which is approximately 3km away. Alternatively, if you arrive at Durrow, you can also arrange for a taxi, but note that it will be around 7km to Aghaboe Abbey. Expect to pay around €10-€15 for a taxi ride from either station.
