From the town of Carrick-on-Shannon, head south on the N4 towards Ballaghaderreen. After approximately 20 km, take the exit for the N61 towards Roscommon. Continue on the N61 until you reach the town of Boyle. From Boyle, follow the signs for the N4 and then take the R233 towards Arigna. Stay on the R233 until you reach the village of Arigna. The Arigna Mining Experience is located at Derreenavoggy, Arigna, Co. Roscommon, N41 YP78, which is well signposted. There is free parking available on-site.
Public Transportation
From Carrick-on-Shannon, you can take a bus to Boyle. Bus Eireann operates a service (Route 23) that connects these towns. Upon arriving in Boyle, you will need to take a taxi to reach Arigna Mining Experience, which is approximately 10 km away. Taxi fares can vary, but expect to pay around €15-€20 for the trip.
