Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Carrick-on-Shannon. Take the N4 road towards Dromod and continue to the R202. Follow the R202 until you reach the junction with the R280. Turn left onto the R280 and follow the signs for Fivemilebourne. As you approach Fivemilebourne, look for signs directing you to Parke's Castle. The castle is located at Parke's Castle, Kilmore, Fivemilebourne, Co. Leitrim, F91 FP71. There is a parking area available near the castle, which is free of charge.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Carrick-on-Shannon to Fivemilebourne. Check local bus schedules for the exact times, as services may be limited. Upon arriving in Fivemilebourne, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers to Parke's Castle. Follow the signs towards Kilmore and ask locals for directions if needed. The walk will take around 20 to 30 minutes. Note that there may be a small fee for the bus fare, typically around €5.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, start from Carrick-on-Shannon and follow the same route as for cars. The R202 is suitable for cycling, and you can enjoy the scenic views along the way. It’s approximately a 16 km ride, which should take about 1 to 1.5 hours. Ensure you have a bike lock for when you arrive at Parke's Castle, as there are places to secure your bicycle.
