If you are driving, start from Castlebar, the county town of Mayo. Take the N5 road towards Westport for approximately 10 km. Continue on the N5 until you reach the junction with the R310 road. Turn left onto R310 and follow the signs towards Rathfran. After about 5 km, you will see signs for Rathfran Abbey. The abbey is located just off the road, and there is parking available nearby.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Castlebar to Ballina. Look for services provided by Bus Éireann or local bus companies. Upon arriving in Ballina, transfer to a local taxi service or check if there are any buses heading to Rathfran.
