Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Wicklow Town. Head southeast on Main Street (R750) and follow the signs for S Quay. After approximately 5 minutes, you will reach Black Castle located at S Quay, Corporation Lands, Co. Wicklow. There is limited parking available nearby, so it’s advisable to arrive early.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a bus from Dublin to Wicklow Town. Bus services such as the 133 and 145 operate regularly from Dublin Bus Station. Once you arrive at Wicklow Town, walk southeast down Main Street (R750) for about 10 minutes until you reach S Quay. Black Castle will be on your left. Be sure to check the bus schedules as they may vary, and plan your return trip accordingly.
Walking
If you’re already in Wicklow Town and prefer to walk, head towards the seafront from the town center. Walk south on Main Street, turn left onto S Quay, and continue walking until you reach Black Castle. The walk takes about 20 minutes and offers scenic views of the coastline.
