If you are starting from Trinity College Dublin, head south towards College Green. Continue straight onto Westmoreland Street, which becomes Fleet Street. After a few minutes, turn left onto Burgh Quay, and then right onto the River Liffey walkway. Follow the river south until you reach O'Connell Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight onto D'Olier Street. Continue straight as it turns into Westmoreland Street, then turn left onto Merrion Square. The Defence Forces Memorial is located at 90 Merrion Square W, on the western side of the square.

Catch the Luas Green Line tram at St. Stephen's Green station. Travel towards Broombridge and get off at the next stop, which is Harcourt. After disembarking, head southwest on Harcourt Street, then take a left onto St. Kevin's Parade. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of Merrion Square Park. The Defence Forces Memorial is located at 90 Merrion Square W, just on the western side of the park.

If you're at Dublin Castle, exit the castle grounds and head east towards Dame Street. Turn right and walk along Dame Street until you reach the junction at the top of the street. Turn left onto South Great George's Street and continue straight until you reach Merrion Square. Once you arrive at Merrion Square, the Defence Forces Memorial will be located at 90 Merrion Square W on the western side of the square.
